NI: policing of Black Lives Matter protests

A report by the NI Policing Board found was highly critical of the PSNI’s actions against protestors, which “sent the wrong message to protesters and damaged the reputation of the PSNI and the confidence of some members of the public”.

Food insecurity among the UK’s young people

A new study looking at food insecurity amongst young people in London and Edinburgh found it was triggered by low income and insecure employment and exacerbated by living in shared accommodation and leaving home for the first time. Young people, whose jobs are hardest hit by the pandemic, have been found to be at higher-than-normal risk of exposure to poverty, destitution and homelessness, and are often reluctant to seek help.
