Covid deepening inequalities

Researchers at University College London reported that people who were struggling before Covid have seen their situation worsen: almost half of those having trouble financially before the lockdown said their situation was now much worse, and a further quarter said they were worse off.  Amongst those who reported being comfortably off before Covid, 27% said they are now doing better than before; only 20% of this group reported being worse off.
