The Mental Health Rights Campaign is a group of people affected by mental health issues, their carers, and families bereaved through suicide who campaign for improvements in mental health services and the realisation of our right to the highest attainable standard of mental health.
Our report and campaign is focused on GP provision of mental health care in general, and three key areas we identified as most important to progress in particular:
- Lack of mental health expertise among GPs
- Barriers to accessing appointments for mental health care
- The over prescription of medication to deal with mental health issues
