In the US, authorities from the Cherokee Nation’s ‘Cherokee Connect’ programme have established 35 free drive-in WiFi points for digitally excluded people throughout their far-flung communities.  The technology allows people to remain in their cars to ensure social distancing; as long as they are within 100 feet of the signage they have free online access.
